Intermediate Skills- Slab Construction

In this 3 hour class participants will use slabs to construct a complex shaped vase using a pattern. Skills to be practiced are use of a slab, practice in clay joinery and using a pattern to build a piece in clay. There are no materials fees. However participants are required to bring two slabs measuring no less than 16" square and no thinner than ⅜" and a container of coordinating slip. The Clay preference is up to the participant but the clay must be purchased from Indian River Clay in order to be fired at IRC. If you are without the ability to roll a slab, come 30 minutes early to use the studio slab rollers. Glazing will be the responsibility of the participant and is not included in this class.
