Centering on the pottery wheel is the fundamental and technical skill that determines the success of any form that follows. It’s challenging, demanding and some would say an elusive act of magic. It might happen once and then it seems you just can’t get it again, struggling and hoping the clay will eventually center itself. Giving up you try to make something anyway only to be disappointed it starts to wobble and you have to stop, not getting what you wanted. If you’re ready to finally get the low down on how to center the clay every time, join master potter Nancy Blair for this dynamic workshop to learn a step-by-step approach to centering. Once you learn Nancy’s way, you’ll be confident every time you sit down to make pots. Individual attention is given to each participant. The focus is on centering, not finished products.
