MASTER WORKSHOP
Surface Art: Integrating Screen Printing
and Underglaze Transfers
Join printmaker and ceramicist, Ginny Piech Street, in an exploration of color, surface design and technique. In this two-day workshop, participants will learn how to make screen printed transfers for clay pieces. The class will cover all aspects of the project skills: creating a design, transferring layouts to a screen using photo emulsion, printing Underglaze transfers, and using the transfers on clay.
Day 1: Exploring examples of the technique, design time, learning about and engaging in the screen printing process.
Day 2: learning how to utilize transfers as a surface design. Final project time. An extra bonus is the trading of transfers with other participants.

Materials Fee: $60 (covers your own screen, all screen printing materials, and glazes)

Day one: Sunday January 29, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm (Bring a lunch)
Day two: Sunday. February 5, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Materials To Bring: Students should have a basic clay background. Bring with you your design ideas, sketches, thoughts, questions.
