Tax Deductible Donation
Indian River Clay Inc. is a not-for-profit organization. We applied to the IRS for tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code in July. Once the Foundation's status is approved, gifts are fully tax deductible for Federal income tax purposes. Gifts given now while approval is pending will only be tax deductible if such approval is granted. While we fully anticipate receiving a favorable ruling on our application, this process can take several months and the IRS has informed us that we may not have notice until January 2019. Your 2018 gift will qualify for deductibility in 2018 even if we don't receive final word from the IRS until 2019. We will promptly notify all donors as soon as we have our status.
